Daytime Skincare Regime Everyone Must Follow

Skin care is always subjective. You need to find what suits you. I am sure that you must have found the perfect skincare routine for yourself by now. Even if you haven’t, don’t worry, There’s a basic regime that everyone can follow.

It’s important to note that the skincare regimen has to follow a certain order for the best results. How do you remember which order to use these products? Think thin to thick. Apply the thin products first and then proceed to the thicker ones. First, use the products that need to get absorbed into the skin (for example - primer) and then use the ones that have to sit on the surface like sunscreens.

Now let’s get into it. What’s the skincare regime before starting your day?

Cleanser
Cleanse your skin with a mild face wash and clean the dust and the grime of the day. This also cleans your skin and unclogs your pores. It keeps away acne and pimples. It is extremely important for the hygiene of your skin. Take some time to carefully try different products to find the one that suits you the most.

Toner
If you have skin that looks fresh and supple, you may not want to use a toner. However, a toner has its own benefits. Contrary to popular belief, a good toner does not clog the pores but rejuvenates the skin with Vitamin B, antioxidants and toning acids. Each skin type has a different toner for it so choose carefully. Toners were created to save the skin from basic soaps which cause the skin to dry.

Antioxidant serums
These serums are nutrient intensive and need to sit on the skin for the best results. Most skin care professionals recommend using a serum to keep the skin adequately oxidized. This saves the skin from harmful UV rays that cause collagen to break down and cause wrinkles. Bobby Dalton from Siorai recommends using anti-aging creams with ingredients like TAM-818, retinol, or vitamin C to keep skin looking firm and bright.

Eye cream
Dermatologists recommend using eye creams from the time you hit your 20s. Even if you don’t have wrinkles and eye bags yet, use eye creams. Nothing happens in a day. Starting early can put off those wrinkles for a while longer. Use sunglasses when you go out in the sun. Harmful UV rays break down the collagen in the skin and make it droop.

Treatment serums
The eye cream is for around the eyes, treatment serums are for the rest of the face. These serums need to be as close to the skin as possible and if you’re following a treatment regime to target problem areas on your skin, this step should be given a lot of importance. Serums and creams that treat specific problems have different ways of application too. Some need to be put directly on the face and some have to be put in combination with some other cream.

Moisturizer
Yes! Moisturizer is a must even if you have oily skin. You may feel that your skin secretes natural protection and hydrating oils to protect your face. Well, you need moisturizers for extra protection against harsh natural elements. If you travel a lot or spend time outdoors, you definitely should not avoid this step. Make a mental note that if you’re using treatment serum then leave out those spots lest the two products hinder each other.

Sunscreen
Applying sunscreen is important even if you’re not spending much time outside. You don’t have to be in the sun for the UV rays to harm your skin. Even if you are in the shade, these rays can still break down the collagen in the skin. This step is a bit difficult when you’re using a chemical sunscreen.

Chemical sunscreens need to be close to your skin so they get absorbed and protect your skin. However, this becomes a bit tough after moisturizer because it needs to be applied to the moisturizer. If you skip the moisturizer then you risk your skin getting dry. The way to work around this get a sunscreen that has zinc in it. Zinc is safe to use and offers more protection against UVA and UVB rays. You can also look for a sunscreen that is SPF 30 or more, which also moisturizes the skin for maximum benefit.

You can’t go wrong with these basic tips. It doesn’t matter what type your skin is. If you follow the basic skin care regime, you can be sure that your skin will be supple and young. You can even feel that your skin is always fresh and glowing. You’ll feel the glow from within.
