Ellie Claire Art Journal {Review} #EllieClaireGifts

When I was in high school, I would write in my journal (diary) every day. I wrote about my dreams, goals, ups & downs, and so much more. As I got older, the hectic life of adulthood crept in. Slowly, my daily journal entries came to a stop. For the last year or so, I have started writing in a journal again. I am writing similarly to the way I did when I was younger: dreams, goals, day to day things, and yes still ups & downs. Recently, I had the opportunity to review three different Ellie Claire art journals. During my review, I received: Illuminate Your Story, Faith & Lettering, and The Illustrated Word. These journals are absolutely beautiful and very detailed, page after page. They will help you showcase your words, writing, and thoughts while focusing on God's word.

Learn to create your own beautiful illuminated letters with this how-to journal. Use the almost-lost art of illuminating letters to enhance your writing, Bible journaling, or sermon note-taking. Rich illustrated manuscripts in the Museum of the Bible’s collection inspired these gorgeous letters. Easy to follow instructions, practice pages, and encouragements guide you through the creation of amazing start letters, flourishes, and more.

  • Cloth spine opens 180ยบ—takes lay-flat journaling to a new level
  • Elastic pen loop on spine
  • High-quality, non-bleed paper
  • Uplifting, inspirational quotes sprinkled throughout
  • Drawing guides, grid background practice pages, plus lined pages for journaling
  • Ribbon marker, pocket, elastic band closure.

The Illuminate Your Story Journal offers a touch of elegance and simplicity. The first couple of pages introduce you to the history of illuminated letters, detailed instructions, supplies you will need (recommended writing utensils) and more. In the back of the book, there is a keepsake pocket which is a great place to hold onto anything small that is important to you. Attached to the journal is an elastic book closure band, a ribbon bookmark, and an elastic pen holder on the side of the book.

Throughout the journal, you will find many resources to aid you in your writing. You learn how to write and draw with the art of illuminating. You have actual journal pages where you can write anything you would like as well as more practicing. I also love how some pages have inspirational quotes on them. Everything about this journal from the front to back is amazing and beautiful.

Journal 2: Faith & Lettering

New from professional letterer Krystal Whitten! With guides, instructions, and tutorials, this is a fun and inspiring way to create beauty with words. It is the perfect place for journalers to practice Bible journaling, lettering quotes and verses, or decorating a page with original thoughts and plans. Exploring your God-given creativity has never been so rewarding.

About the author: Krystal Whitten

Drawing from more than ten years of graphic design experience, Krystal Whitten has cultivated a large following of creatives on Instagram who have embraced her unique combination of lettering and faith. Through her social media, speaking engagements, and in-person workshops she unites her love for God’s Word with her passion for hand lettering, inspiring believers to go deeper in their faith by getting more interactive with their Bibles. She lives in Land O’Lakes, Florida with her husband, Andy, and two children, Pierce and Haven.

The Faith & Lettering Journal offers a colorful design with gold foil lettering that is fun and attractive. In the front of the journal, there are a couple of pages that explain the ins and outs of it. There are tons of pages to practice your handwriting and let your creativity shine. The quality of the journal is amazing. It is hardback, full- color pages that are smooth, and are perfect for writing. Each page is stunning and inspiring!

Create your own masterpiece with this journal that has forty glorious illustrations from ancient manuscripts that have been recreated as line drawings. Just as medieval monks brought Scripture to life through intricate inked illustrations in handwritten manuscripts hundreds of years ago, you can now create your own stunning keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.

About the author: The MUSEUM OF THE BIBLE opened it’s 40- foot bronze entry doors in Washington, D.C. in November 2017 and marked an unprecedented historical first in Bible history. The one-of-a-kind collection is housed in a 430,000-square-foot building just two blocks from the National Mall and three blocks from the nation’s Capitol. The largest single museum in Washington D.C., and the first in the world to focus on honoring the Bible, the Museum provides guests with an immersive and personalized experience as they explore the history, narrative and global impact of the Bible. Worthy Publishing Group and Museum of the Bible have teamed up to form a new book-publishing imprint, Museum of the Bible Books.

The Illustrated Word is very impressive with its size. The 9'x7' journal opens up to lay flat allowing you to easily color the black and white images. There are also lined pages to write your thoughts with beautiful colored images throughout the journal. The journal is top quality from the cover to the pages. You can easily use coloring markers without any bleed-through. The coloring pages are great for reducing stress and are a definite bonus.

Each of these journals offer premium quality. They have textured covers and lay-flat binding. There are amazing details and features offered from the beginning of the journal to the end. I love that the pages are thick, which helps with ink bleed-through. You could use a fountain pen on these pages. If you would love to pursue the art of hand-lettering and journaling these are the journals for you.
