Craft Blocks from Hy-Lite ~ Review / Giveaway {2018 Holiday Gift Guide}

Bring your imagination to the table and get into the spirit of crafting this holiday season. Hy-Lite offers durable acrylic block Craft Blocks for both children and adults to create imaginative, unique gifts and decorations.

Each Craft Block comes in a standard eight-inch by eight-inch square size and is three-inches wide. The blocks are fitted with a one-and-one-half-inch sized access hole and have a reusable rubber seal, making it easy to add items inside the Craft Block.

They are easy to handle and transport, the long-lasting acrylic blocks are sold both individually ($15 each) and by the case, (at $225 for 24 blocks) online and are offered with free shipping. The lightweight clear wave acrylic blocks are made in the U.S.A. and offer a safe, break-resistant way to create projects for all ages.

There are many different ways you can decorate your Craft Block. You can fill the blocks with hard candies and then put a bow around them, add decorative twinkling lights, or maybe add small ornaments. There are endless ways to create crafty fun projects using the Craft Blocks. Kids can also have fun decorating Crafts Blocks for themselves especially if they love to collect small items, like stamps, coins or puzzles, just fill the block with those items. Adding potpourri or scented cinnamon sticks to the blocks creates a fast, easy gift idea. Or, you can put an assortment of dry dog treats inside the block and add a big paw print and the pet's name on the outside as a gift for an animal lover!

I will be the first to admit that I am not the most skilled person at doing crafts. I wish that I was a little bit craftier, it is a lot of fun working with crafts, especially when they look great when you are done. In the past, I have tried my hand at doing various craft projects, but they never seem to turn out. However, if the crafting project isn’t too complicated, I have had them turn out successfully. Recently, I had the chance to review the acrylic Craft Blocks by Hy-Lite. I love that this craft block is different from other blocks that are made of glass. I have 3 kids, so the acrylic material that this block is made from makes it more of a kid-friendly item. They are also more durable and lightweight, perfect for the kiddos. I think it is great that they are made with all ages in mind.

During Halloween, I added orange lights into my Craft block with orange and black flowers. It looks amazing! Unfortunately, my photo got deleted (SORRY). The top or bottom whichever way you choose to stand the craft block has a rubber seal that you can take on and off. This allows the craft block to be reusable. However, the access hole is only 1” x 1” so you are limited to what you can put inside. This is not a big deal, there are still so many things you can use with the block for different times of the year.

Since Halloween is over, I let my son use the craft block and he wanted to put all his change in it. He is saving up for a Play Station 4. He loves how it looks on his bookshelf with his money in it. I love how we can change the look of the Craft Block from season to season, holiday to holiday, or for any reason at any time.
