My little girl loves to pretend that she is cooking up tasty meals.  So it was easy for me to know that she would LOVE the game “Acorn Soup” from the moment I first laid eyes on it. This game is perfect for little ones ages 2 and up. It is easy and fun, hands-on, and there is a lot of interaction. The game is stored in a container that doubles as the soup bowl with a lid. It also comes with wooden ingredient-pieces, as wells as a wooden spoon for mixing and stirring your child’s soup creations. Included are 8 simple recipe cards to help teach toddlers to learn different ingredients, while encouraging them to follow instructions as they follow the recipe cards and add the ingredients into the soup bowl.

My little girl loved playing with this game, and making the ‘everything soup’, which was her favorite. Each recipe card is colorful and matches perfectly with the wooden ingredients. When you are playing the game you sit out a recipe card for your little one to look at. They then match up what is needed for that recipe. If you need three nuts you will see the number three as well as three pictures of nuts on the recipe card. They then find these ingredients and start adding them one by one into the soup. You also have them add one ingredient at a time onto the spoon, this is how you add the food into the soup. A great way to work with fine-motor skills and processes.

If you are looking for a game that encourages learning but is also fun, then I am definitely recommending this game! ESPECIALLY, if you have a little chef in the making running around.  My little girl loved her game and has really enjoyed playing it!
