Inside you'll find hundreds of decadent, simple-to-prepare dishes, including:

  • Cheesy Lasagna Rollups
  • Dark Chocolate “Pudding”
  • Sexy Trainer’s Strawberry Caipirinha
  • And many more!

Eating healthy can be a struggle for me because for me I am a visual eater. Lots of people are like me and eat with their eyes first. That is why it is so important for me to find healthy recipes that not only look good, but also taste great. The cookbook ‘You Can Have It!’ offers 125 decadent recipes that are also diabetic friendly. Not only does this recipe book offer amazing recipes that have me coming back for more, it also includes things that aren’t found in your everyday cookbook.

In the beginning of the book there are some great tips offered like: prep all your ingredients before you cook, when to get new spices, and much more. Many of these tips have been very helpful not only with the dishes from this cookbook, but with all my cooking in general. There is also a page that says ‘Recipe List’ which lists every dish in the book organized by; sides, desserts, mains and more.

This is helpful in letting you know where the particular dish is located in the cookbook. If I am looking for Seasoned Curly Fries, which my kids love, I know to go to the “Superior Sides” section. Throughout the book when you get to a new section, you can easily find the recipe you are looking for. The page has a header that offers the name of the section, than each recipe offered with its page number. I personally love how easy it is to find the recipe I am looking for. Not all recipes have pictures but the ones that do are mouth-watering. The pictures look so good, they make me hungry!

Each recipe offers a massive amount of information specific to that meal. Some of the many things it tells you: how many people it serves, serving size, prep time, ingredients, and preparation instructions. Under the name of the recipe there are tips and information like reminding you about letting your meat rest and so on. At the bottom of each recipe you can find how much each serving has in calories, fats, sugar and everything in between. Some recipes also have a section ‘Cook’s Notes’ but not all recipes offer this. There is valuable information along with special considerations included here as well.

I’m not a diabetic but I do have family members that are. Eating healthy is important to me and everyone else as well. The recipes offered in this book are great tasting, very healthy, and easy to make. It is an awesome addition to my kitchen arsenal and will definitely come in handy when I host family for big dinners on holidays and special occasions.
