Nostalgic Candy Club Review

Who doesn’t like candy? Most people have a ‘favorite candy’, some people haven’t changed theirs since they were children. I LOVE candy. The thing about new candy is, there is often a lot of innovation involved. I don’t have a problem with innovation in food, but most of this type of candy is very obviously for kids. You see whistles in hard candy, Sour gels that you apply to taffy from a tube, and even chocolate eggs with toys inside. It all looks good, but I would look silly carrying around a colorful hybrid of toy and candy. While innovation in new candies is something I am okay with, I Prefer that my favorite brands stay the same. Lots of people love there ‘Tried and True’ brands of candy, so there isn’t much to freshen up the experience of eating it. That is why I was so excited to try the Nostalgic Candy Club box, a new way to experience candy that combines vintage style with modern innovation! The Nostalgic Candy Club is a great idea that breathes new life into vintage candies.

To take something old and make it feel new and fresh is not an easy task. The Nostalgic Candy Club is a candy-delivery service, which manages to accomplish the previously mentioned combination of old and new in an exciting way. I am going to explain the box that I received from this remarkable company, and I bet you’ll already know what its contents taste like. The Nostalgic Candy Club sent a small box FULL of classic Candies, brands we all know and love, an array of candy-store and gas-station favorites that most generations will appreciate. I received my Nostalgic Candy Club box with very high-hopes and was surprised to find myself a little excited to open it. The box is about 8 inches long and 2 inches deep, plenty of room cram with some of your childhood favorites, and believe me, there is a lot to choose from. The box I received had crème filled Carmel chews, smarties, atomic fireballs, Reeds root-beer and cinnamon hard-candies, Brach’s fruit chews, the colorful Tootsie Fruit chews, Chick-o-Sticks, a Twin-Bing, and an Idaho Spud.

There are some older style candies, and the packaging is truly a throwback. It has been a while since I have seen smarties come in any form other than a rolled-tight package, the smarties included in the Nostalgic Candy Club box are the flat pouch-like packages with three inside them. I LOVE the Brach Fruit candies, a vanilla taffy with drops of multi-color fruit jelly inside, they are smooth and satisfying! Some of the candy is very vintage. The packaging of a couple of the brands looks like it is straight our of a time that our grandparents talk about. The Twin-Bing and Idaho Spud Candies were two such examples, one had a slightly fruity taste wrapped in chocolate, the other was marshmallow with a dusted chocolate coating that had a hint of coconut in the flavor, very satisfying.

The old saying about good things coming in small packages is very true when it comes to the Nostalgic Candy Club. There have been a few mail-to-you services that you can subscribe to for convenience, but none that I have heard of that are serving up sweets and triggering nostalgic memories. True to their name, you get a kick of nostalgia as soon as you open your box. There were several types of candy that I loved and (of course) hubby was happy to help, as were the kids, there was something for everyone, but this time it feels catered for both children and adults. This is a very sweet service to experience. The only issue is a pang of guilt as you stare at the bottom of your empty box.

You can subscribe to a delicious nostalgic candy box, with either a month-to-month, 3, 6 or 12 month plan. Every month they will pick out their favorite candy from the past 50 years and ship it directly to your door. Each Nostalgic Candy Club box is packed with 4-6 full size candies from your childhood and plenty of small candies, along with the history of the candy and monthly surprises! You can cancel anytime!
