Review: Explore Cuisine Bean Pasta's

Sunday, March 11, 2018

Pasta is one of the most comforting foods I like to eat. You can do so much with it and make a different meal every time. However, for some in my house, pasta does not set well with their stomachs. That is why I am always looking for more healthy alternatives to pasta. That way I can give my family amazing pasta dishes and also try something new along the way. Recently, I had the chance to work with Explore Cuisine and they were kind enough to send me a variety of their products. I received the Organic Black Bean Spaghetti, Organic Edamame & Mung Bean Fettuccine, and the Organic Edamame Spaghetti.

Each of these products offer at least 24g protein, are gluten-free, is vegan, they are NON-GMO and USDA Organic. Each product that I received also has at least 11g of fiber! All of these things combined make for an amazing healthy product.

The first one I decided to try was the Black Bean Spaghetti which is made of 100% black beans. The first thing I noticed was that the spaghetti was as black as night. They are very thin like angel hair pasta. It took around 6 minutes for them to cook and then I drained them as normal. I paired it with a traditional tomato sauce, and was pleasantly surprised with the flavor and texture of the dish. With each bite the texture is like eating pasta. I was surprised that you couldn't tell they were black beans. Honestly, it was like just eating traditional pasta in my opinion. Each bite offered a mouthful of flavor and I was not disappointed with the Organic Black Bean Spaghetti.

The second one I decided to try was the Organic Edamame & Mung Bean Fettuccine. I used a recipe from the Explore Cuisine website. I went with the Edamame and Mung Bean Fettuccine in Pesto Sauce Recipe, since I had all the ingredients already. I cooked the fettuccine and drained as normal. I than mixed the fettuccine and the sauce mixture together. Each bite was a mouthful of flavor. The texture of the fettuccine was spot on as you would expect. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor profile of this product and the recipe I found on the Explore Cuisine website.

For my last one I found a recipe as well on the website for the Organic Edamame Spaghetti. I went with the Veggie Spaghetti Soup. I thought a soup would be a nice change. I only had to purchase a few items to complete this recipe. After cooking and draining the spaghetti I mixed it with the broth. I am not much a soup person however, the Edamame Spaghetti recipe is a soup that I do enjoy. I loved the flavor profile and the texture of the spaghetti.

Each one of these Explore Cuisine products exceeded my expectations. I am very happy to find a healthy alternative to pasta that offers so much more. Not only are they healthy but they offer great tasting meals too for the whole family.
