I recently had the chance to review a cute children's book; A Runtamuffin
Tale. It is such a nice story about a
special little chicken named Runtamuffin and her life around the farm. The
storyline is easy enough for little kids to understand and interesting enough
for them to enjoy. My little girls favorite character had to have been little
Loui, a Jack-Russell Corgi mix, for his adorable looks and his innocent
personality. She also of course loved Runtamuffin! I personally love how the book teaches the importance of
friendships. How trusting one another is so much more important than personal
physical traits. We also enjoyed the goofy creativity of the names for all of
the animals. The illustration and the storyline together really make for such
an amazing children’s book. Overall, I'd say any young child will enjoy this
light-hearted tale of a chicken named Runtamuffin.
This story is based on the true life adventures of the author's chickens and their life at Legacy Farms. Runtamuffin, Aka Runti, is the smallest of 14 chickens and she has the biggest personality! She loves the attention of all the people and truly has a friendship with Mariett! The book was wrote from my heart and how the author personally sees her chickens and the life they live through her eyes. There are several life lessons – from sharing, believing in yourself, love, friendship, respect, and most of all … your size doesn’t matter!
The 57-page book, wonderfully illustrated by Marc Beauregard, targets children ages 6 to 12 and would make a treasured addition to any family's home or elementary school library.
About the Author: Melissa Taylor was born and raised in the small town of Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Melissa's mom filled her childhood home with animals, which cultivated Melissa's love and desire to surround herself with all types of four- and two-legged creatures. She currently lives, owns and runs a farm with her husband in South Florida with 14 chickens, 34 horses, 5 dogs and a cockatiel.
Where to purchase: You can make a purchase on the Runtavision website for $21.50.
