Bad Ass 2: Bad Asses Review

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

Danny Trejo (Machete) and Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon) star in the action-packed follow-up to the 2012 cult hit Bad Ass with BAD ASS 2: BAD ASSES, from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Returning writer and director Craig Moss (Breaking Wind, 30 Nights of Paranormal Activity with the Devil Inside the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) brings our two unlikely heroes together to deliver the most hard-hitting, butt-kicking movie experience to hit home entertainment this year.

Vietnam vet Frank Vega (Trejo) now runs an East L.A. community center where he trains young boxers to survive in and out of the ring. But when his prize student falls in with the wrong crowd and turns up dead, Frank teams up with his pal Bernie (Glover) to take matters into their own fists and prove that justice never gets old.

Featuring outstanding supporting performances from Loni Love (“Chelsea Lately”), Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire) and Andrew Divoff (“Lost”), the BAD ASS 2: BAD ASSES Blu-ray and DVD includes “The Making of Bad Asses” featurette with Trejo and Glover taking fans behind-the-scenes to show you what it takes to be a real bad ass, even at senior status. Prebook is March 12.

Men love movies. Some of the films that men love can be enjoyed with the entire family, while others are tailored for the big boys club. Sometimes the boys just want a good-ole, white-knuckle, romp to get them through. Throw in some justice and maybe a touch of drama to add sincerity, and you have the makings of a great movie for men.

Bad-As 2: Bas Asses, is a great movie for men. The action Is delivered by Danny Trejo and Danny Glover. This would seem like a random pairing, but The action seems sincere when the stakes are high. Both Trejo and Glover display acting talent that has been groomed for years throughout the respective actor’s careers.

Things turn ugly for Frank Vega (Danny Trejo) as he trains young children to box within the walls of his community center. When something happens to his protégé, Frank sets out to solve the problem with the help of the jilted Bernie (Danny Glover).

These two old men pack some serious punch. Danny Trejo appears a little out of his zone to capture the role of Vietnam veteran Frank, but He quickly sells himself, as he has done with past roles, and comes off as the perfect fit by the end of the movie. If you like films that are full of action, or want to by your husband the perfect Man-movie, you cannot go wrong with Bad Ass 2, or its prequel.
