Free Birds
From the Academy Award®-Winning producer of Shrek* comes a hilarious animated adventure about two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks who travel back in time in order to keep their species off the Thanksgiving menu. Featuring an all-star voice cast, including Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson and Amy Poehler, Free Birds is loaded with laughs and stuffed with fun for the whole family!

Free Birds is an animated movie that was released in theatres late last year. It is an animated film, so my kids have been naturally looking forward to seeing it. When it released on DVD I had the opportunity to write this review after watching the film with my family. It is a carefree and enjoyable movie that most kids will be able to enjoy.

There is always something going on in free birds. The plot stays fresh moving from drama to laughs. The turkeys are the main characters; they can do anything from talk to travel time. Owen Wilson’s turkey is the smartest on the farm, he asks important questions, and figures out the dark truth about what happens to turkeys that are taken care of on a farm. Luckily, Wilson’s Turkey (Reggie) is granted a pardon by the president, and travels to a camp where the plot really takes off.

This movie is random and full of energy. My kids loved it, which is the most important aspect of a kid’s movie. Reggie gets to enjoy freedom, travel the globe, and eventually travel time, actually winding up back in the colonial days for the first thanksgiving. Your family will get a kick out of Free Birds. It is a fun and exciting way to spend a couple of hours of your afternoon or family time.
