Car chases, bloody bodies and a hard-core prison... all in a day's work. Mel Gibson's vacation plans take a turn for the worse in the raw, explosive and action-packed GET THE GRINGO, which arrived on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download July 17th courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Icon Productions.
Gibson stars as Driver, an American criminal who violently crashes his car through the border wall as he tries to outrun the U.S. Border Patrol and coming to a screeching halt in Mexico. A Having survived the crash only to land inside a hard-core Mexican prison, Driver enters the strange and dangerous world of "El Pueblito." A In the middle of this ruthless penal colony, Driver must do whatever it takes to survive, even if he must turn to the unlikely guidance from a 10-year-old kid who shows him the ropes.

I have always been a fan of Mel Gibson with all of the many characters he has been able to portray so effortlessly in movies. 'Get The Gringo' is just another movie that shows how good of an actor he truly is. This is due to his experience, and the variety of roles he has portrayed in the past. This movie, which finds Mel's character in a maximum security Mexican penitentiary, helps continue his legacy.
This movie will keep you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end. It is full of action and also contains some violence, so it is not intended for anyone but adults. I would also recommend you not to watch this movie if you do not like movies with a lot of action and violence.
More than once, the movie takes an unexpected, or slightly unrealistic turn. Nothing unimaginable happens, but you will feel bad for the character when you see his luck in action. This is a unique movie and deserves praise for originality alone.
