Get Ready For Laughs in spring’s funniest fish-out-of-water comedy with heart starring everyone’s favorite tough guy (…in a tutu!)
TOOTH FAIRY 2 On Blu-ray and DVD March 6
The comedy with bite is back and funnier than ever,   TOOTH FAIRY 2 arrived on Blu-ray and DVD March 6 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. The one man comedy phenomenon Blue Collar Comedy Tour’s Larry the Cable Guy (Cars, Cars 2, and History Channel’s Only in America) sinks his teeth into this outrageous follow-up to the 2010 theatrical hit Tooth Fairy.

Larry Guthrie (Larry the Cable Guy) is a fun-loving dreamer with a serious mission: win back the love of his life before she makes a terrible mistake and marries the wrong man!  In his attempt to get back on his long lost love’s good side, Larry visits the school where she works and make’s a horrible mistake…  He accidentally tells a child that the Tooth Fairy is just a myth.  Crushing the child’s dreams sets off a chain of events that are far more than Larry bargained for including being  “sentenced” to become a Tooth Fairy or face  having his memories erased for good…PLUS losing any chance of getting back the girl of his dreams!  Larry is brought before a 500-year-old Tooth Fairy stuck in a 10-year-old girl’s body (played by newcomer Brady Reiter) for sentencing.  The Tooth Fairy demands that Larry make retribution by temporarily serving as a Tooth Fairy and proving that Tooth Fairies really do exist. His mission?  Larry must collect 20 teeth in 20 days. With his orders in hand, Larry embarks on a journey to prove the existence of Tooth Fairies and to win back the love of his life.

Larry “The Cable Guy” is a man of many faces. His alter ego (no, Larry is not his real name), is the only way most people know him. How he handles the different roles in entertainment that has led to, and cultivated his success is admirable. I think that his career path has been an inspiration to all aspiring comedians that are struggling to make a name for themselves for the sake of laughter and feeling good.

For the sake of listing achievements, Larry the Cable guy has been a radio host/ disk jockey, stand up comedian, television actor, movie actor, and voice actor. To some he an unending source of laughter, to others, inspiration. Around this house, he is best known as “Mater”. My point is, every role he takes on is worth a look, if you value and are open to the idea laughing hard. He takes the funny with him and has one goal, make you laugh, and make your day a little easier.

This review is not about Larry, it is about “Tooth fairy 2” a movie he stars in. I felt it necessary to mention him as the movie is largely defined by his onscreen presence and outrageous. You will laugh with your children if you watch this with them, and you should because it is a great family movie.

The story is straightforward and original, but manages to feel familiar at the same time. I think that Larry (who, coincidentally, plays Larry on the film) is where most of the familiar feelings come from. The story is the unique aspect. Notice I said “unique”, not complicated or full of twists, just a good idea for the movie to be built around. A somewhat disgruntled Larry tells a boy that the “Tooth fairy isn’t real”. In a directly following and unbelievable event, Larry finds himself tasked with assuming the role of the Tooth fairy. Enter a side of Larry that you haven’t seen before.

The story is funny, addictive, and in the end, sort of touching. All of the kids liked it and so did we adults. My hubby and I both liked Larry (the character) and have always enjoyed watching Larry (the comedian). He was an excellent, albeit unlikely choice for the role and with anyone else it simply would not have been nearly as cherishable. It is a family friendly, fun experience.
