In Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, the Chipmunks and the Chipettes get “chipwrecked” on an island after Alvin’s idea of hang-gliding with a kite goes terribly sour.  Stranded on an island with no adult supervision, Alvin, with Theodore and Simon, along with the Chipettes find themselves in a new adventure.  In celebration of the DVD and Blu-ray release of the film on March 27th, we will share tips for surviving an island – Chipmunks style – including finding delicious island food and treasure hunting.

Once stranded on the island, the Chipmunks and the Chipettes soon realize that they need to build a protective shelter to guard them from all of the different predators and the scary unknowns that surround them in their unfamiliar territory, especially at night. Alvin takes it upon himself to build a tree house for the boys and Brittany takes charge of the ones for the girls. In true Brittany fashion, however, the girls’ tree house is not only cozy but also stylish.

The Chipmunks and the Chipettes are not used to fending for themselves in the wild as their dad Dave looks after them and provides them with all the necessity they need, like food for instance.  However, when they get separated from their Dave, they must find their own food in order to survive, so each take turn looking for yummy but non-poisonous fruits to eat.

While they’re marooned on the island, the Chipmunks and the Chipettes build a fire using Simon’s glasses and the sun to keep themselves warm.  Doubling up as a rescue tool, they hope the fire would also send a warning signal to whoever is flying over the island.  Unfortunately though, Theodore blows out the campfire because Dave always taught them to turn of all the lights at bed time.

In Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, the Chipmunks and the Chipettes go on an exploring adventure on the island that they’re stranded in.  After being bitten by a spider, Simon, who’s typically the cautious one, suddenly experiences a personality shift and is transformed into Simone – an adventurous French explorer – who leads them into a waterfall cave, where he finds a treasure – a gold crown, which he proceeds to give to Jeanette, one of the Chipettes.
