GLEE Give A Note - Voting Begins Today!

You can lend your voice by voting for your favorite video

Starting today, everyone across America is invited to lend their voices along with their votes, for their favorite videos in the GLEE “Give a Note” campaign to help save music and arts programs in public schools.

I personally love this campaign. With my kids both being in public schools I feel the Art and Music programs in school is very important. I participated in chorus in school along with other programs to do with music and art. Having things like this in school I feel keeps the kids busy and they have fun. Which in return keeps them from doing things that can possibly get them in trouble.

$1 dollar for every GLEE Season 2 Blu-ray and DVD sold goes towards the $1 million dollar guaranteed commitment. The GLEE “Give a Note” campaign was created by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment in partnership with the National Association for Music Education to help save music and arts programs in public schools. With more than 300 public schools nationwide submitting videos for grant consideration, your vote will be critical in determining the outcome.

After a month-long submission phase that started in September and ended this morning, each video entry is up on and now you can cast your vote to decide the finalists. Visit to view videos, and vote once per day until voting ends on November 8, 2011 at midnight. The schools receiving the most votes will move on to a final selection made by the National Association for Music Education. In December, the winning schools will be announced, with three grand prizes of $50,000 each; 10 first prizes of $25,000 each; and 60 second prizes of $10,000 each.
The National Association for Music Education (formerly MENC), among the world's largest arts education organizations, marked its centennial in 2007 as the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. Through membership of more than 75,000 active, retired, and pre-service music teachers, and with 60,000 honor students and supporters, NAfME serves millions of students nationwide through activities at all teaching levels, from preschool to graduate school. NAfME's mission is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all. Since 1907, NAfME has worked to ensure that every student has access to a well-balanced, comprehensive, and high-quality program of music instruction taught by qualified teachers. NAfME's activities and resources have been largely responsible for the establishment of music education as a profession, for the promotion and guidance of music study as an integral part of the school curriculum, and for the development of the National Standards for Arts Education.
