We Are Getting Away

Sunday, September 11, 2011

So, my hubby and I have been together now for 5 1/2 years. I can't believe how long it has been and how fast it has went by. It is funny looking back before we had our little boy we had just me and him time. I mean I had a daughter from my first marriage but it was shared custody until she started school, then once that started she went to just visitations with her dad. Once that happened at the time we had our little boy so both kids were home all the time. No big deal, I mean I love my kids but I would love some time with hubby and me with no little ones.

So, since I am a stay at home mom, many people don't really offer to baby sit my kids well at all for us to have just a nice dinner or movie night just the two of us. My parents are to busy with their lives, my hubby's parent's are much older with health issues plus live to far away, then my grandma I really hate to ask her at her age, then with our siblings living either far away or just to young. Yea I know a lot reasons why we can't have a date night. I am at the point I wonder if we would know how to act or know what to talk about if we didn't have our kids lol.

Then my hubby works on the river for 30 days at a time then when he gets home he is only home for 15 days. So, we are due for some time along. It has been a little over 4 years since we have been along for anything. We are thinking about when he comes home each time getting a babysitter to watch the kids one night for us so we can have a date night.
Hubby and me on vacation a few months ago at Virginia Beach!
I feel it is really important for you and your better half to spend some time alone. That is why we were so happy when my friend won 30 concert tickets. I mean this is great I have never been to a concert and now I get to see 3 Doors Down OMG I am so excited. Not only that but it is in the area that we are relocating to in a few years and buying a house. Plus, me and hubby are going to be alone with no kids and even stay in a Hampton for a night with no kids. I think this will be great for us. We are going to spend the day walking around Dublin, Oh which is where we are going to be moving in a few years and check the place out. With out kids we will be able to get a better idea of the place. Then that night to the concert, back to the motel and the next morning we have to leave at 10am to head back home.

I am so excited to find out more about the area without the kids, maybe  eat at a few nice places, and well just get to hang with my hubby!

  1. Congrats on the alone time! My hubby works overseas for 2.5-3 months at a time. We try to find some alone time during each of his breaks, but it's hard with an infant that still nurses.

  2. Hi Amber, a lot of excitement in this post girl. You two are a very attractive couple and I hope everything works out for you to have that special time.
